Vintage Japanese Kimono
Vintage Kimono and Haori are entirely hand stitched in Japan and selected for their exquisite beauty. It is inevitable there may be marks, loose threads or signs of wear due to their age. The stitching can perish and we recommend using a reputable seamstress to preserve your kimono ensuring your fashion choices are ethical and sustainable. Take care when wearing, these items do not perform in the same way as a modern machine stitched item. Do not wash. Specialist dry clean only.

This Tomesode kimono has been altered to a shorter more wearable length to be worn as a long coat. To preserve the ethos of the kimono we use a local meticulous hand stitch seamstress to deconstruct the kimono and re stitch with integrity and respect to the iconic garment. It is a lengthy complex process to alter both the outer layer and the inner lining. Kimono construction is an art form, and so is the alteration process. The price includes this alteration.
